How to Find an iPad Air in Stock

If you’re looking to pick up the iPad Air today or over the weekend the last thing you want is to get to your local Apple Store only to find the model you’re looking for is sold out. Thankfully, there’s already a website set up to show you which nearby stores have the device your looking for.

Mordy Tikotzky, the independent developer behind iPhone-Check, has relaunched his site as Apple-Tracker, expanding the service to cover the iPad Air and upcoming iPad mini with Retina display as well as the still-scarce iPhone 5s. Just enter your zip code, pick out which model you want, and the site will instantly show you which stores have the product you’re looking for.

Based on a quick search of New York, it looks like the Wi-Fi iPad Air is available at most local Apple Stores, while the only location with cellular models for any carrier is Apple’s flagship 5th Avenue store. We’re not expecting any real availability issues with the iPad Air, but Apple-Tracker could be extremely useful later this month when the allegedly-understocked iPad mini with Retina display¬†hits stores.
