16GB Nexus 5 Sells Out in Under an Hour

by Todd Haselton | October 31, 2013October 31, 2013 12:30 pm PDT

Google announced the Nexus 5 at about 2:00 p.m. EST and, within an hour, the 16GB black and white models of the device are already out of stock. That’s not too surprising considering the hype, but it also shows how badly consumers will snap up a $349 phone with really good hardware. The 32GB models are still in stock, though we suspect that inventory will drop soon, too.

Thankfully, Amazon, RadioShack and Best Buy will also sell the phone, as will T-Mobile and Sprint. Right now it sounds like you’ll have to wait a few days before those retailers stock store shelves, however. TechnoBuffalo called several RadioShack and Best Buy locations to find that none of them had inventory just yet. Meanwhile, Sprint will be selling the Nexus 5 on Nov. 8 while T-Mobile will begin stocking it in the coming days and weeks, too.
