You have to love leaks. Google hasn’t even announced the Nexus 5 yet and meanwhile, someone has already had the phone long enough to not only play with it, but tear it down and completely take it apart. Thankfully, the alleged teardown also gives us yet another idea of what we can expect when Google announces the phone, possibly sometime later today.
Measurements show a 4.95-inch screen, which is on a par with the 5-inch rumors. We can also see a 2,300mAh battery, though it’s pretty much locked down, which means we’re not going to see a swappable battery (no surprise there). We can see a speaker grill at the bottom of the phone that looks similar to the one on the Nexus 7 2013 tablet, a metal-accented power button and SIM tray, the alleged 8-megapixel camera and more.
Unfortunately, Fanatic Fone, which did the teardown, doesn’t give us a shot of the chips on the phone. We’re expecting a Snapdragon 800 processor and 2GB of RAM, though it would have been nice to know for sure. Hopefully we find out in just a few hours.
