When will the iPad mini with Retina display launch? Apple didn’t provide any details beyond “November” when it first introduced the device, though now a leak from a retailer suggests it will be a few weeks yet. According to a screen shot obtained by 9to5Mac, Target will begin selling the iPad mini with Retina display starting on Nov. 21. That’s 20 days after the new iPad Air makes its debut on Nov. 1.
It’s unclear why Apple wasn’t able to launch both iPads at the same time, though some reports have pointed to limited supply for the Retina screen on the iPad mini. It’s a concerning trend that’s also affecting Apple’s iPhone 5s. The gold model, or any version with larger capacities, are still really hard to come by. Thankfully it doesn’t sound like the same issue will plague the iPad Air when it launches tomorrow.
We imagine, if this date is correct, that Apple’s usual retail partners including Best Buy, Walmart and others will begin selling the iPad mini with Retina on November 21 also.
