Typing of the Dead: Overkill Revealed For Halloween

Did anybody know SEGA was working on Typing of the Dead: Overkill? I certainly didn’t.

The game is a follow-up to the popular Dreamcast hit, Typing of the Dead, which replaces guns with keyboards in a crazy spin on the company’s zombie shooter House of the Dead series.

Normally, the game would cost $19.99, but SEGA released the game just in time to take advantage of Steam’s Halloween sale where it can be purchased for $9.99 until Nov. 2.

If you’ve never had the chance to play the original Dreamcast hit, then you are in for a real treat. Typing of the Dead is one of those magical games which sounds like it could be a failure on all levels, but proves to me marvelously fun. Campy dialogue and silly blood effects are fun and all, but once you realize how tense the typing can be in this game, you’ll never forget it.

Plus, it can help you type faster and better. For extra challenge, be sure to hunt down the Japanese version of the game. That’s nigh impossible.
