Sprint Adds 45 New 4G LTE Markets for 230 Total

Sprint announced the addition of 45 new 4G LTE markets today, bringing its total mobile footprint to 230 markets. The carrier also improved and expanded LTE service in some regions, though its footprint still lags behind VerizonAT&T and T-Mobile when it comes to total coverage across the country.

New LTE markets include Abilene, Athens, Eagles Pass, Jacksonville, Odessa, Paris, Texarkana and Tyler, TX; Adrian, MI; Albany and Corvalis, OR; Ardmore, OK; Auburn and Opelika, AL; Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Lakeland, Winter Haven, Naples, Pensacola and Tallahassee, FL; Clovis, NM; Coeur d’Alene, ID; Columbia and Ellicott City, MD; Elizabethtown, Frankfort and Lexington, KY; Farmington, Jefferson City, Kirksville and Rolla, MO; Fort Polk South and Lafayette, LA; Fort Smith, AR; Greenville, Mauldin, Easley and Greenwood, SC; Janesville and Steves Point, WI; Laurel and Picayune, MS; Martha’s Vineyard, MA; Milledgeville, Valdosta, Warner Robbins and Waycross, GA; New Haven, CT; Red Bluff, Santa Ana and Anaheim, CA; and Spokane, WA.

Sprint also announced the addition of LTE service in Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island, NY. The carrier previously brought its high-speed service to parts of Brooklyn and the Bronx. Now the company has expanded its coverage to the rest of the city.
