Google Hosting Google+ Event Today

google-plus-event

Google announced recently that it will hold an event this morning to highlight new features for Google+. It actually caught us by surprise, and we’re wondering what’s in store. Google+ is the company’s social network, so it doesn’t seem like the right time to announce Android 4.4 KitKat or the Nexus 5, but maybe Google will try to throw a social spin on both products.

Engadget said it learned from sources that Google will focus on a new “Auto Awesome” feature for videos, which could ultimately be similar to the Zoe video clips on HTC’s Android smartphones. You’ll be able to tie-in music and transitions to the videos, similar to HTC Highlights, and then post them to Google+, Engadget said.

Google’s senior vice president Vic Gundotra has been teasing that he’s really excited for today’s event, so we’re really curious to see if there’s something much bigger in store. We’ll be covering the news, which starts at 12:30 p.m. EST. Hit up the source link to register yourself.
