Just a day after announcing that a new version of Google Glass was on the way, Google has taken to Google+ to show off the new hardware with its optional mono earbud.
As Google Glass Explorers begin to receive their new hardware – and also have an option to invite three people each into the program – Google has posted two images that show off what we can expect from the new hardware. We knew that the new version was going to include an earbud, but we hadn’t heard any clues about how it would connect or what it would look like. From the pictures, it doesn’t look like all that much has changed overall, but the earbud is, to be blunt, very noticeable.
Google has also announced that this version will be the first to feature support for prescription lenses, but no images of that have been shown off as of yet.
Reportedly Google Glass will be making its way out to the public in 2014, so it isn’t too surprising that a new version needed to be released to continue refining the product before it makes its way out to the masses. It will be interesting to see what people have to say about the earpod in every day use and just how effective it is.
