Android KitKat - Red Mascot Feast

We’ve received dozens of questions in regards to Google’s “Play” event in New York City last night. Unfortunately, the event was only for consumer publications, not tech sites, which is why you probably haven’t seen any news.

Google typically reserves its big announcements for tech press, so we had a feeling the event would come and go without nary a mention of the Nexus 5 or Android 4.4 KitKat. That’s exactly what happened: Google held the event and didn’t discuss any fresh news.

It was a bit upsetting, especially because a leak on Google’s own site suggested that the Nexus 5 and, in turn, Android 4.4 KitKat were just around the corner. The latest rumors are pointing to a possible Oct. 31 announcement, however, so we may only have a few more days to wait.

At this point it’s starting to seem like Google is holding a carrot in front of all of us. We’re just excited about the company’s new hardware as all of you are, and we’ll be sure to keep our ear to the ground on any happenings. Stay tuned!
