AT&T announced that it will offer the Samsung ATIV S Neo starting on Nov. 8. Oddly, the ATIV S Neo is basically the same phone as the ATIV S, which Samsung announced more than a year ago in Aug. 2012. The phone will launch for $99 with a new two-year contract, or will also be available with AT&T’s Next early upgrade plans for $21 per month.
The ATIV S Neo sports a 4.77-inch display with a 1280 x 720-pixel resolution, a 1.4GHz dual-core processor, Windows Phone 8, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera, 16GB of expandable storage and 5GB of free cloud storage from AT&T Locker.
We’re not so sure why anyone would pick up the ATIV S Neo at this point. Most people are probably better off buying the Lumia 925, which costs the same price but has access to plenty of custom software created by Nokia, or even the older Lumia 920, which costs 99 cents with a contract and comes in a variety of colors.
