Apple Highlights OS X Mavericks Features

by Todd Haselton | October 22, 2013October 22, 2013 10:22 am PDT

During Apple’s press event on Tuesday, Craig Federighi discussed OS X and Mavericks. He revealed a new feature called “Compressed Memory” that lets you fit 6GB of data in just 4GB of RAM.

Additionally, Apple focused on integrated graphics for Mavericks where the CPU and GPU share the same system memory on the same device. Mavericks can leverage the GPU/CPU to give you the amount of GPU power you need whenever you need an extra graphics push. Other Mavericks features include enhanced notifications, Finder tags, Apple Keychain, new views in Safari, support for multiple displays, shared links and more.

We expect to hear more on the Mavericks front, including a release date and price, soon.
