Apple’s going to take the stage today to introduce its new iPads, but a new report is sparking fresh rumors that the company is working on its own television set.

Masahiko Ishino, an analyst with Advanced Research Japan, published a note recently that suggests Apple is building both 55-inch and 65-inch TVs with 4K ultra high-definition (UHD) resolutions. The TV sets, Ishino says, are set to hit the market during the fourth quarter of next year, presumably in time for the 2014 holiday season. UHD screens sport a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels, which is twice that of a 1080p HD display.

Rumors of Apple’s “iTV” aren’t new, especially considering that Steve Jobs himself hinted a set could be on the way. However, Apple has continued to sell its existing Apple TV streaming media box, which has long suggested that the company will instead focus on that market instead of introducing its own television sets. That hasn’t stopped pundits from publishing various rumors, however, and some point to Siri-based voice controls that would eliminate the remote as we know it entirely.
