New J.D. Power data reveals that Apple and Samsung devices rank among the most satisfying. According to key findings, Apple devices rank highest with customers on AT&T and Verizon—the nation’s two heavyweights—while Samsung ranks highest on Sprint and T-Mobile. It’s unclear why there’s a disparity on the different carriers; overall, Apple’s iPhone 5 and Samsung Note II performed particularly well across all four big U.S. carriers, J.D. Power said. The BlackBerry Z10 and Nokia Lumia 920 also ranked high across the different providers.

On Verizon, Apple smartphone owners were most satisfied with their overall experience, while Samsung smartphone owners were most satisfied on Sprint. Additionally, J.D. Power’s data, which evaluated responses from over 16,000 smartphone owners, revealed T-Mobile customers typically choose their device based on price, while Sprint customers tend to pick by features. The data was collected between February and August of this year, and measures device performance, design, features and ease of use.
