Best Buy to Offer $100 Trade-in Value on Old Phones Towards a new iPhone

Best Buy iPhone 5c offer TechnoBuffalo

Best Buy looks set to start a promotion next week that could see you walking out of the store with iPhone 5c for no down payment.

A trusted source has provided us with a screenshot of an internal Best Buy document that states the retailer will be running a promotion from Oct. 13 to Oct. 19 that will allow you to trade-in select smartphones and receive a minimum of $100 in credit. The phones must be in working condition and be free of cracked screens or water damage to qualify.

The catch appears to be that the gift card you’re awarded for your trade-in must be used to sign up for a two-year contract on either an iPhone 5c or iPhone 5s. This does mean, however, that you could walk away with an iPhone 5c for no down payment as the retailer is currently offering the 16GB version of the device for just $99. Not too shabby if you have a qualifying phone laying around or you’re ready to upgrade.

As with all deals there are disclaimers that not all stores will be participating, so you may want to call ahead before you head down to your local Best Buy on Oct. 13.  Your trade-in value may also be impacted by if you have the original packaging and accessories, so make sure to gather everything up to maximize your gift card.

All-in-all, not too bad of a deal if you’ve been eyeing either of Apple’s new phones.

Thanks, anonymous!
