HBO content is now available in Google’s Play store. The search giant on Monday announced a partnership with the premium cable network, saying that much more content, including documentaries, films and more shows will come down the road.
Right now, folks in the U.S. can download favorites such as Game of Thrones, True Blood, Boardwalk Empire, Girls and The Newsroom, among others, in both standard and HD content; prices range from $1.99 to $3.99 per episode; you can also purchase entire seasons if you prefer binge watching. Unfortunately, this isn’t comparable to HBO’s own Go offering, which is only available to subscribers—the latest seasons aren’t in Google Play—though it’s a good start for those deeply embedded in the search giant’s ecosystem. The all elusive a la carte HBO Go option still remains at large.
