Namco Bandai Files for SoulCalibur: Unbreakable Soul Trademark

SoulCalibur Nightmare

Namco Bandai has just filed trademark for a new game entitled SoulCalibur: Unbreakable Soul in Europe. This is not the first or second game in its weapon-based fighting series currently being worked on, but rather it is the third.

The Japanese arcade company has already revealed plans for a re-release in SoulCalibur II: HD Online and a free-to-play single player game called SoulCalibur: Lost Swords which revolves more around gathering loot and creating weapons.

No further information about this new game has been given yet, but the series has been one of Namco Bandai’s biggest original cash grabs in recent years. The series’ strong legacy has allowed the mold to be broken and the team to get experimental. I wonder which genre this new game will fall into, because I bet it’s not a fighting game.

SoulCalibur: Lost Swords is coming to PlayStation 3 later this year, and SoulCalibur II: HD Online is also expected to be released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 later this fall. More on this latest SoulCalibur: Unbreakable Soul when Namco announces it. See the trademark below.
