Mighty No. 9‘s Kickstarter campaign secured a PlayStation 4 and Xbox One release overnight after reaching the $3.3 million mark. The game will now be released on nearly every other platform in existence from the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii U all the way to PC, Mac, and Linux.
With just a few hours to go, as of writing, the campaign is still $170,000 shy of securing a release on the PS Vita and Nintendo 3DS as well. After that, one final stretch goal at $3.7 million remains which opens a level in which the game’s heroine, Call, will be playable.
The wild success of this Mega Man spiritual successor has the internet abuzz with the return of Keiji Inafune to the director’s chair, and it’s been a while since we’ve been this excited to see one succeed. Less than a day remains, and we have yet to see where it will rank on the grand scale of Kickstarter’s history.
