The Evil Within, according to most of the pre-release hype and marketing, is a title that aims at taking survival horror back to its roots. The game is being developed by Tango Gameworks, a Japanese studio headed up by former Resident Evil lead Shinji Mikami.
Today we have a brand new demo from the Eurogamer Expo. It’s a mix of livestream and audience recording, so expect stutters and shots of fellow nerds in a crowd. The gameplay doesn’t actually start until around eight minutes in. There’s a break near the end, and then we’ll see more footage.
Judging by the looks of the demo and how it compares to Ron’s Tokyo Game Show description, this is the same thing our Japan-based editor saw roughly a week ago.
The Evil Within will launch for the PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 in 2014. We’ll have more on this survival horror effort as it comes.
