Apple TV on Thursday added a few extra channels that further expand the platform’s breadth. For sports fans, Major League Soccer has added a terrific new channel that gives viewers access to on-demand video highlights, game analysis, fantasy soccer advice, player profiles, standings, and even full episodes of MLS 36 and MLS Insider. Even better, if you have an MLS Live subscription—they start at $14.99—you can stream both live and archived regular season games in full. MLS is currently at the height of its popularity, so it’s great to see the league get even more exposure, especially on such a big stage.
In addition to the MLS app, Apple TV is also adding Disney Junior, which is quite clearly aimed at younger audiences; Disney Junior joins Disney’s other channels that were added to Apple TV recently. A software update was rolled out to Apple TV not long ago, allowing users to AirPlay from iCloud, among other neat features. The platform’s latest software additions don’t exactly alter the TV landscape, but that could change as early as next month when Apple is expected to announced new Apple TV hardware.
