It looks like Nokia will go out with a bang after all. Before the company’s storied mobile division gets eaten up by Microsoft, it has one more press event scheduled for Oct. 22 in Abu Dhabi where we may see not one or two devices, but six new devices in a full range of sizes and shapes. The Verge reports the Windows Phone-maker will also unveil a number of new Lumia accessories, citing sources “familiar with Nokia’s roadmap.”
So what are these six new devices? We expect Nokia to unveil the highly-anticipated 6-inch Lumia 1520 phablet, as well as its rumored Lumia 2520 Windows RT tablet. Beyond that there’s not much to go on, besides the unexciting entry-level Asha 500 that leaked earlier this month, and maybe even the alleged Nokia Android handset. The truth is we have no idea what the Finnish company has planned for us.
With Microsoft’s buyout all but finalized, Nokia has one last chance to unveil its own mobile devices to the world. If there was ever a time to let loose and unveil something crazy its now since the company really has nothing to lose at this point.
