Apple’s launch weekend for the iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s set records for the company with nine million handsets making their way into the hands of customers.
In typical Apple fashion we have no idea how the nine million units break down – i.e. how many were 5s, and how many were 5c – and that makes it a bit difficult to call this a record breaker as that number is split over two models. The iPhone 5 topped 5 million in its opening weekend last year, so you’ll have to be the judge if you think the 5s or 5c sold more than that.
Either way, Apple had an amazing launch weekend for its two new phones, and while you may quibble over the exact number sold, it’s difficult to not call it a successful launch.
First Weekend iPhone Sales Top Nine Million, Sets New Record
