Well, it looks like Grand Theft Auto V is doing incredibly well.
We already knew that the title raked in more than $800 million during its first day at retail. Now, Take-Two Interactive, the publisher behind the game, has revealed that Grand Theft Auto V has earned more than $1 billion in its first three days.
In the press release that accompanied the worldwide sales number, Take-Two estimates that GTAV is officially the fastest entertainment property, including video games and film, to break $1 billion.
The sales rate for this game is pure insanity, folks. We all knew Grand Theft Auto V would perform well at retail. This is one of the most successful franchises in gaming history. But, I don’t think any of us would have predicted this pace.
Kudos to Rockstar. I’m sure they’re going nuts with this news.
