During Apple’s iPhone event last week, the company brought up Chair co-founder and CEO Donald Mustard to show off Infinity Blade III, the conclusion to the beloved Infinity Blade series. The title, unsurprisingly, is one of the best-looking mobile games that’s ever been put out, and again showcases just how much the industry has evolved over the past few years. We’ve seen console-like quality in the past from mobile, but Infinity Blade III blurs those lines even further.

Released yesterday, the game is available for $6.99 and compatible with the iPhone 5s, 5c, 5, 4s and 4; the iPad 2, 3 and 4; the iPad mini; and the iPod touch 4th and 5th generations. Really, though, the game is specifically designed for Apple’s iPhone 5s, which now comes with a 64-bit A7 processor, the first ever in the smartphone industry.

If you’re familiar with the Infinity Blade universe, players will take control of both Siris and Isa, who each have their own unique combat styles. According to the game’s description, the two protagonists will join up with the God-King Raidriar in an attempt to destroy the Worker of the Secrets and his army of Deathless titans. Scary. New to the series is a new new home base, known as The Hideout, where players can unlock new skills and discover allies.

Chances are you’ve already purchased Infinity Blade III if you’ve played the previous two; $6.99 actually seem like a steal considering how awesome the game is. You wouldn’t think something like this would be possible on a smartphone, but developers are proving everyday that mobile gaming is a force to be reckoned with. Infinity Blade III is one of the very best examples.
