The iPhone 5s will be available to order online starting at 12:01 a.m. PST on Sept. 20, and available to purchase at official Apple Stores starting at 8 a.m. that morning, according to an email sent out by the company earlier today. The iPhone 5c is also set to ship on the same day, but while Apple is offering pre-orders for its new plastic handset, the 5s will be first come, first serve, with no pre-orders in sight.
A line has already formed at the 5th Avenue Apple Store in New York, and we expect it to grow in length as the handset’s release draws closer. If you’re hoping to pick up a new iPhone in person on September 20 we recommend getting to your local Apple store on the early side.
The iPhone 5s boasts updated specs inside a slightly refreshed iPhone 5 body, including a 64-bit A7 processor, an M7 chip, an improved iSight camera, and a fingerprint reader built into the Home button. The new iPhone will offer the same 4-inch Retina Display screen, and run iOS 7 out of the box. Check out our full coverage of the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c right here.
