Princess Peach Confirmed for Next Super Smash Bros.

Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS has just gotten a major booster shot of girl power! Mario’s long time love interest and the bane of his existence, Princess Peach, has just been confirmed as a playable character in the upcoming Nintendo fighting game.

Nintendo’s confirmation brings the current roster to 15 characters. Princess Peach, who we predicted was a shoe-in, also joins Luigi and Captain Olimar as characters announced post E3. Captain Olimar’s announcement came in July and Luigi rocked up in August.

Twice is a coincidence, but three times is science. Could this latest news prove we will be seeing a new character announcement every month? I’m holding out for a late spring release, and seeing it in June would only allow enough room for eight more characters. It’s going to be tight, but who else is showing up for the show?

Wario, Marth, Ness, Yoshi, Zelda, Captain Falcon, and Ganondorf have my votes, but somehow I just know those Ice Climber pukes are going to make it.

You can check out the entire roster at the Super Smash Bros. official website. Sakurai’s renditions of the Nintendo characters have all been spot on and gorgeous so far, wouldn’t you say? Can’t wait to hear the music.
