E3 2013 - EA - Battlefield 4 - Gameplay and Trailer - 068

Want to see the crashing skyscraper in DICE’s Battlefield 4 come tumbling down in a decent frame rate? Want to jump from building to building in multiplayer without your game looking like a summer vacation slideshow? Do you want to run this mammoth of a video game on your home computer at all?

Then you’re going to have to maybe do a little upgrading. EA’s new Frostbite 3 engine doesn’t mess around. DICE has confirmed both the recommended and minimum requirements for system specs for those who want the game to perform competently on their PC rigs.

  • Windows Vista SP2 32-bit (with KB971512 platform update)
  • AMD Athlon X2 2.8 GHz / Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz
  • 4 GB of RAM
  • AMD Radeon HD 3870 / Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT
  • 512 MB of graphics memory
  • 30 GB of hard drive space

  • Windows 8 64-bit
  • AMD six-core CPU / Intel quad-core CPU
  • 8 GB of RAM
  • AMD Radeon HD 7870 / Nvidia GeForce GTX 660
  • 3 GB of graphics memory

Anybody looking to upgrade or need to do some serious building in the near future to play this latest wave of new games? I know I have to.

Battlefield 4 is launching for the PC, as well as the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on Oct. 29. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions will be available at both consoles’ launches.
