Sony announced its smallest ever game console today, the PS Vita TV.
The PS Vita TV is a new console for your TV that will allow you, as the name implies, to play Vita games on your TV set. However, it will also play all of the PSP and PSone games that are available for download on the Vita meaning that it will have a catalog of around 1,300 games at launch. It will also accept Vita memory cards for you to be able to play your games at home or on the go.
In addition to the game playing side of the device, it will also be able to stream various media services such as Hulu. And a future update will allow you to play PlayStation 4 games remotely.
The basic console will be released in Japan on Nov. 14 for ¥9,480 (Approx. $95 USD). A special edition will launch at the same time and will include an 8GB Vita memory card and a DualShock 3 controller for a retail price of ¥14,980 (Approx. $150 USD). No word as of yet when the new PS Vita TV will make its way to countries other than Japan.
