Image Suggests HTC Working on A Tablet Based on HTC One Design

Sometimes you can have too much of a good thing. As one of the HTC One’s strongest characteristics, the aluminum design is highly regarded among a market largely dominated by plastic. And while the smaller form factor is perfectly suited to the device as it exists now—and even its smaller and potentially larger iterations—that same famous approach might not translate so well into tablets. We certainly have mixed feelings, if this leaked photo is to be believed.

According to a mysterious image leaked on China’s Weibo, HTC is poised to unveil a tablet—maybe in the 7-inch range—that essentially looks like a blown up HTC One. The image has yet to be verified, and there’s been little to no information up until now to suggest HTC would jump back into the tablet market. But it sure looks like HTC will attempt to capitalize on its newfound image with a tablet competitor, even despite a declining value.

What little we have to go on is that the mysterious tablet could feature a large front-facing camera and BoomSound speakers. It also appears to be in a 4:3 ratio, though that’s just a guess based on the squatness of the image. HTC has already released a One Mini and is likely going to unveil an HTC One Max. But an actual tablet based off the same design? Hopefully we’ll find out soon.
