Dr. Seuss’s classic stories are still as timeless as ever, and now 40 of his best titles will be released as eBooks. Random House said earlier this week that it will bring its partnership with Dr. Seuss Enterprises into the mobile age starting late this month with a series of releases throughout the rest of the fall. All eBooks will cost either $8.99 or $10.99 and come fully formatted with all the original illustrations and layout.
Starting on September 24, a first batch of eBooks will be released, including Fox in Socks, Green Eggs and Ham, Hop on Pop, The Cat in the Hat, Horton Hears a Who, Oh the Places You’ll Go!, and The Lorax. Next month on October 22. a second batch of eBooks will include How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and Yertle the Turtle, with a smaller third and final wave arriving on November 5. Random House will also release new audio recordings of the books at the same time.
The one bit of information that’s missing from the press release is what platforms the new eBooks will be available on, but we have to imagine Apple, Amazon and Google will all get their hands on these Dr. Seuss classics.
