Mirror’s Edge Recreated In Live Action Parkour

Do Mirror’s Edge fans ever wonder what it’s like to live the life of a true parkour master? If seeing a virtual world of obstacles through the eyes of Faith just doesn’t quite do away with the separation of reality and computer graphics, then how about this live action demonstration of a real parkour runner using his talents to create the game in real life?

Parkour athlete Neil Cointe dresses up in Faith’s outfit and goes to great heights, literally, to recreate the movements and images that should resonate with longtime fans. Set to the game’s unmistakable soundtrack, Cointe’s recreation might not be as death defying as the game itself, but it’s probably as close we’ll ever come to seeing Mirror’s Edge come to life.

I was thinking that EA’s marketing team should get in touch with this team of runners and film editors and get something going, but then I remembered the guy in the video is doing real live dangerous stunts and putting his life at risk for the sake of a video game. Might be tough to make him an insured employee.

The new Mirror’s Edge will be powered by Frostbite 3 on next generation technology, so the chances of it looking realistic are just that much closer. It will take off on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PCs on an unspecified date.
