We expect the Galaxy S4 Mini to launch on Verizon and AT&T, but according to a new FCC filing the device may be headed for Sprint as well. The recently-discovered document lists a handset with model number SPH-L520 which features Sprint’s brand of LTE, dimensions just slightly larger than the S4 Mini, and clear Samsung branding.
There’s no actual confirmation this is the Galaxy S4 Mini. Samsung may be working on an exclusive handset for Sprint, but we have a pretty strong suspicion this is the smartphone maker’s miniaturized flagship. With the S4 Mini on the horizon for America’s two biggest carriers, it’s no surprise to learn the phone could also land on Sprint.
The Galaxy S4 Mini comes equipped with a 4.3-inch qHD screen, a dual-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz, 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, an 8-megapixel rear camera, and a 1.9-megapixel front-facing shooter. It comes running Android 4.2.2 out of the box with Samsung’s own custom UI on top.
We still don’t know when the device will be released on or how much it will cost on-contract, though imagine it will fall around the $99 price point.
