Samsung Mobile CEO and president JK Shin just announced the Galaxy Gear Smartwatch on stage during a press conference in Berlin. It was designed to work specifically with the Galaxy Note 3, and it will launch in 149 countries around the globe on September 25 — suggesting that the Note 3 will make its debut right around the same time.
The Galaxy Gear runs a version of Android and allows you to view notifications, even place phone calls direct from your wrist. It sports its own 1.6-inch display, a 1.9-megapixel camera and will launch in a variety of colors.
Pricing for the Galaxy Gear smartwatch was not revealed.
