New Amazon Kindle Paperwhite Accidentally Leaked (Updated)

Oops. It appears that Amazon accidentally pulled the trigger a bit early and posted a page advertising its new Amazon Kindle Paperwhite eReader this morning. The leak was spotted in Croatia and a screencap was captured before Amazon caught on and pulled the page. So what can we expect?

The listing says that it has a next-generation backlight, higher contrast for inkier blacks and brighter whites, a 25-percent faster processor, future integration with the Goodreads social network, an achievement-based system for kids called Kindle FreeTime, the ability to scan through pages without losing your place and more. It doesn’t look very different, at least from a design standpoint, and we imagine it will come in around the same price point.

Amazon will reportedly announce the new Kindle Paperwhite on Sept. 30, where we might also be treated to news of its new Kindle Fire Android tablets.

Update: Amazon wasted no time. The new Paperwhite is ready to order now.
