Double Fine, known for games like Psychonauts, Brutal Legend and Iron Brigade, is developing the PlayStation 4 augmented-reality software, The Playroom.
According to Eurogamer, this news comes straight from Sony Computer Entertainment America’s Adam Boyes, and was announced during a Sony indies showcase at PAX on Saturday night.
Also coming out of the event was word of a number of indie games headed to PlayStation 4: Penny Arcade Adventures Episodes 3 and 4, a new roguelike game from Triple Town dev Spry Fox called Road Not Taken, as well as ports of Divekick and Warframe.
The Playroom news is really the most interesting thing, though, and that could be a big push for core gamers to pick up the camera Sony chose to leave out of the PlayStation 4 box to keep its price down. From the E3 trailer above, it’s hard to tell what all will be included in the application, but with Double Fine behind it, it’ll at least be genuinely interesting.
