Ace Combat: Infinity Screens and First Gameplay Trailer

I have yet to be truly swept up in the free-to-play model, only dabbling in a few fun tiles here and there for brief stints. However, Namco Bandai just might have the game to truly get me aboard this whole movement with Ace Combat: Infinity.

I have taken an extended break from this series after a wayward release or two that strode too far from its roots for my liking. However, this new trailer has me pumped for an all new run through with Project Aces and its classic aerial combat series.

The game looks gorgeous from head to toe, shining with the stunning graphics and style that have been expected from the series ever since the PlayStation days. The aerial combat not only looks like a blast to play, but it also brings back that break from reality the original games had. Judging from the size of some planes, ground structures, and the ammunition held on each plane, it very obvious this game is returning the series to its beloved semi-science fiction roots.

Namco Bandai might just have a winner here, and it is embracing the free to play like no other Japanese company is with both Ridge Racer and Tekken climbing aboard with Ace Combat. Check out the trailer and let us know what you think about this PlayStation 3 exclusive.

Ace Combat: Infinity is expected before the end of the year, but no official date has been set yet. Expect a download from me on day one. though.
