T-Mobile is reportedly planning to block employee vacations between Sept. 20 and Sept. 22, the very days during which the iPhone 5S and 5C are expected to launch. This, of course, does not confirm the release date, but it certainly does support the rumors that already exist.
The rumored dates popped up earlier this week when the Japanese business newspaper, Nikkei, hinted that the iPhone 5S and 5C would be sold though Softbank Mobile and KDDI au, two of the countries biggest service providers, starting on Sept. 20.
The blackout dates confirm that T-Mobile needs all hands on deck for a busy weekend, most likely because something huge is launching. Whether it is the iPhone 5S or not should be confirmed at a press conference that Apple will reportedly hold on Sept. 10. Given the company’s clockwork history around scheduling the releases of its phones, I think it’s safe to assume those T-Mobile staffers will be busy with a lot of Apple fans.
