We’ve already seen quite a few images of the rear panel of the alleged iPad 5, in addition to shots of the front panel that we ran yesterday, and now there’s a new collection to pore over. Sonny Dickson on Thursday published plenty of new photos that, again, show off a similar design to the iPad mini.
We’re expecting Apple to take the stage on September 10 for a press event, but that it largely expected to focus on the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C. The company will likely hold another event, maybe in October and closer to the holidays, where it will discuss its progress on the iPad line. At that point, we may see the unveiling of the iPad 5, pictured above, in addition to a second iPad mini which may have a Retina display. The iPad 5 should have a beefier processor, perhaps an improved screen, and will more closely resemble its smaller counterpart — though with a larger screen — as we can see by the rounded edges. While we can see a hole for a camera, there isn’t any room for a flash.
We’re not quite sure what else Apple has in store for this new iPad. We imagine there will be a new story to tell with iOS 7 for iPads, which should launch around the same time as this device, so perhaps the new features will rely more on the software.
