The Neptune Pine, another entry into the increasingly crowded smartwatch market, is now available for pre-order. To be honest, we hadn’t heard of the wearable device until earlier today, but based on what we’re seeing it sounds like a pretty amazing smartwatch that may actually be able to replace your phone instead of simply acting as a trusty sidekick.
The Neptune Pine comes with its own SIM card and offers full 2G and 3G connectivity (though it can’t do 4G LTE for now). It’s also equipped with a 2.4-inch 320 x 240-pixel display, a dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, a 5-megapixel camera, 512MB of RAM, and runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with support for a full keyboard, messaging, a web browser and more (no word on Maps).
For all that, the Neptune Pine definitely isn’t cheap. You can pre-order the smartwatch now in either Jet Black or Polar White, starting at $335 for a 16GB model and an additional $60 for twice the storage. The company expects to ship the device this December.
