There’s been a rumor floating around recently that HTC may release a blue version of its flagship One smartphone in an effort to boost sales for its aluminum handset. We saw a rendering of the rumored device earlier this month, and now we’ve got a photo of the blue handset allegedly taken from the factory floor.
The leaked blue HTC One was first posted on Chinese social network Weibo by a factory employee working on the new device. Like current models of the One, this new variant is expected to come equipped with a 4.7-inch 1080 x 1920-pixel display, 32 or 64GB of internal storage, 2GB of RAM, a 4-Ultrapixel rear camera, a quad-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz, and a non-removable 2,300mAh battery.
Based on earlier reports, the blue HTC One may land on Verizon, though the rumor remains unconfirmed. Sprint is offering a red version of the handset, so Verizon may be able to differentiate itself with the new color option. We’re expecting the azure device to launch later this month, so hopefully it won’t be long before we know which networks it will land on.
