iCloud, iMessage, iTunes Store Down for About 3 Million Users

Apple iCloud is down, and has been down for a few hours now, for about 3 million users according to CNET. The company’s status page says that the Photo Stream, Documents, backup and iPhoto journals functions within iCloud are currently expecting issues not related to maintenance. In addition, the page says that iMessage and the iTunes Store are also facing issues. It’s unclear what took them offline, and Apple usually gets its services back up pretty quickly after an outage.

Most people might not notice the issue, since as CNET points out, just 1 percent of users are affected right now. Considering there are 300 million iCloud users in the world, that adds up to just 3 million people. Still, it’s always frustrating when you rely on a product and it isn’t available.

As we said, Apple usually works quickly to restore its services so we don’t expect the outage to last much longer. We’ll keep you updated.
