Google Now Updated With Rental Cars, Concert Tickets and More

Google Now was updated on Thursday with several noteworthy features. The alert system, which works on iOS and Android devices, now includes support for rental car reservations, provides concert tickets when you show up at the venue, improved public transit information about trains and buses, and the ability to share your commute information with others.

Additionally, you can now set reminders for new album releases, TV episodes and new book launches. Speaking of TV, there’s an updated TV card that will tell you about information in the show and the music that’s playing during an episode. Google said you can tap the card when it pops up and say “listen to TV” for more information while watching. Finally, NCAA Football scores are now included in Google Now cards, right in time for the football season to kick off.

You’ll need a device running Android 4.1 or newer to take advantage of Google Now, and the update should be in Google Play immediately. Hopefully that hyper-local update is coming soon, too.
