Windows Phone and Windows 8 Getting 15 New Games from Gameloft

Gameloft and Microsoft issued a joint announcement on Tuesday noting that 15 new games are coming to Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 in the “coming months.” There are obviously going to be plenty of PC titles coming at any time, however, so the real beefy news here is that Windows Phone 8 is getting some more gaming love.

New titles headed to the platform include Dungeon Hunter 4, Total Conquest, Six Guns, Despicable Me: Minion Rush and Asphalt 8: Airborne. Most of these are already available for iOS and/or Android, and Asphalt 8 is hitting those platforms in the coming days. Another title, Uno & Friends, is available for Windows Phone today.

It’s unclear what the titles of the other games headed to Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 are, though we hope the launches come at the same time as they do for iOS and Android. Otherwise Windows Phone is going to continue playing a game of catch-up with competing mobile ecosystems. Gameloft is definitely boosting its efforts, however, and it said it has already released 10 games for Windows Phone 8 this year.
