Among the many reveals that came out of EA’s Gamescom press conference today, one of the big ones was the Nov. 21 release date for Need for Speed: Rivals.
If you remember as far back as this morning, Microsoft published a list of launch-day games for their upcoming Xbox One console. Among the listed titles was, you guessed it, Need for Speed: Rivals.
So, we know it’s a launch title, and we know it’s arriving Thursday, Nov. 21. The logical connection to make is that the launch date for the Xbox One is also Nov. 21. This is by no means a confirmation, but it narrows the window down significantly, unless as GameInformer notes, Microsoft’s launch list needs updating or Need for Speed: Rivals is shipping earlier.
It is also possible that this could be a European launch date as Gamescom is held in Germany, and the dates could change for other areas of the world.
Microsoft’s conference earlier today didn’t include a launch date for Xbox One, likely because it didn’t want to get leap-frogged by Sony like it did at E3. Sony’s conference is later today, so it’s likely we can still expect release dates for both consoles by the end of Gamescom 2013.
