When will the U.S. and Canadian version of the HTC One get Android 4.3 Jelly Bean? By the end of September if all goes well, according to HTC president Jason Mackenzie. The executive recently revealed the target launch date on his Twitter feed, where he also said the goal is to provide the update to the Verizon DROID DNA at the same time.
Carrier updates take time, though, and sometimes one carrier might approve the software before another carrier. That means Carrier A, for example, could push Android 4.3 Jelly Bean to the HTC One before Carrier B. Still, it’s good news for anyone who is looking for the minor update, which adds a few new features but isn’t a huge jump from Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
If you really want a taste of Android 4.3, and future Android updates as soon as possible, you might want to consider the HTC One Google Play Edition. That device will receive the updates much earlier than carrier phones, though you’ll lose Sense 5, support for Zoes and Highlights and more.
