Barnes & Noble has reduced the price of the Nook Simple Touch With GlowLight from $119 to $99. This marks the second price reduction for the ereader, the last one taking place this past Sept. when it was reduced from $139 to $119, the price it was just marked down from.
There is no indication that this is a temporary price reduction, and considering that the device is coming up on 18 months since it was released, it may signal that a new model is en route. While Barnes & Noble recently stated that it would stop producing any new tablets, but it will continue to produce new Nook Simple Touch and Nook GlowLight products and that it will be partnering with manufacturers from here on out to produce them.
The Nook Simple Touch With GlowLight is now the cheapest illuminated ereader on the market at this time, coming in $20 under the Kindle Paperwhite at $119.
