Sprint is preparing to launch its latest Windows Phone device. The carrier announced on Wednesday that it will begin selling the Samsung ATIV S Neo on August 16 for $149.99 with a new two-year contract. The phone is almost identical to the ATIV S, which was announced almost a year ago, so it seems like it’s a little overpriced compared to much newer smartphones that cost only $50 more.

The ATIV S Neo is equipped with a 4.8-inch display with a 1,280 x 720-pixel resolution, a 2,000mAh battery, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage with support for 64GB microSD cards, a 1.4GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8930AA processor, an 8-megapixel camera and a 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera. The company’s ATIV Beam software is also built into the ATIV S Neo, which allows customers to share media to Windows Phone and “select” Android devices using NFC.

If you’re set on Windows Phone, we also recommend checking out the HTC 8XT, which recently made its debut on Sprint and offers similar specs but comes in at a cheaper $99.99 price point. Also consider grabbing the HTC One or Galaxy S4, both cost just $50 more and are much more powerful.
