Following the release of NVIDIA’s Tegra 4 processor, the California-based company looks poised to release a tablet of its own design that runs the same chip. Press photos of a tablet with the name Tegra Tab were recently leaked online by Chinese site MyDrivers, while the company appears to have trademarked the device’s name through the U.S. patent office as well.
Based on the leaked photos, the rugged-looking Tegra Tab is expected to come equipped with a 5-megapixel rear shooter, micro-HDMI and micro-USB ports, a 3.5-mm audio jack, either microSIM or microSD card slot, and the standard power and volume rocker buttons. The Tegra 4 CPU is also designed to work with a stylus, and it looks like there might be a space to slide one in on the top left corner of the device across from the camera.
We expect the tablet to sport a 7-inch display and near-stock Android, but until NVIDIA makes an official announcement we won’t know anything for sure. Stay tuned for more updates.
