Verizon’s iteration of the HTC One might now be delayed until Aug. 29, according to an updated roadmap. Acquired by PhoneArena through an anonymous source, the new date conflicts with a previous claim suggesting the device would be out Aug. 15, next Thursday. That same date, too, went against an earlier leak claiming would be out on the first of August, though that date has obviously come and gone without an HTC One in sight.
Verizon has already teased its customers with a glimpse of the HTC One, but we’ve heard nothing official about a release date; hopefully this latest roadmap is accurate, because it’s been nearly five months since the device was originally launched. PhoneArena reported last week that Verizon is prepping to launch an HTC One in blue, which we’ve already seen, but who knows at this point—just release the device already, Verizon.
According to the roadmap, HTC’s One will replace the DROID DNA (no surprise), a device that’s already been removed from Verizon’s online database.
Additional handsets mentioned on the roadmap include Motorola’s recently announced Moto X, which will supposedly launch on Aug. 23, and the Motorola Droid Ultra and Droid Maxx, which will come a few days earlier on Aug. 20. Other handsets tipped to land this month include the Motorola Droid Mini (Aug. 29), LG Exalt (Aug. 29) and Kyocera Hydro Elite (online-only, Aug. 29).
It’ll be a busy end of the month at Verizon, with the HTC One headlining the carrier’s new lineup. We’ve heard so many potential launch dates that we’re not holding our breath for the supposed Aug. 29 released. In any case, we’ll find out soon enough.
