Last week, Japanese consumers got a taste of what they’ll be scoring from store shelves when The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD. Their boxart for the game is a gorgeous take on the title’s characters and locale. You can see it right here.

Today, Nintendo of America unveiled its region’s boxart. It’s basically the same case with a golden background. Here she be.

The Wind Waker HD Boxart

Why gold? Well, it’s likely a reference to the original boxart for Wind Waker here in the States. That case featured Link on his ship entirely in gold. Here it is for reference.

I still think the Japanese boxart is a little better; but, it’s nice to see Nintendo harken back to the product we picked up more than 10 years ago.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD will hit the Wii U this October. We’ll have more on the game as it comes. For now, feel free to flip through a gallery of in-game images below.
