BlackBerry Z30 Phablet Leak Confirms 5-inch HD Display, More

We already have a decent idea of what to expect from BlackBerry’s first phablet thanks to a few leaked BlackBerry Z30 photos and videos (it’s also known as the A10). Now, a few new images of the phone confirm a few specs. A single photo that shows the underside of the battery cover seems to confirm that the Z30 will offer expandable storage, a 5-inch “HD” display, a 2,800mAh battery, HDMI-out and a microUSB charging port. We assume the screen will have a 720p resolution.

Those specs line up with what we’ve already heard, and apparently the phone will also offer 2GB of RAM and a dual-core processor. Oddly, we don’t see the pins for NFC on the backside of the phone, though we suspect that the feature is included somewhere on the device. The larger display will also allow users to view more application icons on the home screen than the Z10 allows.

The jury is still out on whether or not the Z30 will breathe some new live into BlackBerry. Hopefully the company gets it on the market sooner than later, and at a price point that really attracts customers. Otherwise Android is going to continue to run away with the phablet market.
